We had ordered food It worked out great and tasted very good.

Traditional, middle-class dishes in sufficient portions and at very good prices. The taste is also absolutely fine for a village inn.

Saturday evening schnitzel evening 🤘 delicious Schnitzel from the pan with fresh mushrooms and salad from the buffet.

On our various tours through the Rhön, we stopped in the erlengrund yesterday. The inn is a bit off the beaten track and therefore cannot be found automatically. The owners (boss cooks himself & boss serves) were not exactly blessed with exuberant friendliness. What surprised us a bit because we - arrival 12:30 pm were the first guests. In general, there was very little going on for a Saturday noon. (2 more tables were still occupied) but that seems to be different in the evenings. Schnitzel evenings on Saturdays and lamb evenings on Sundays at reduced prices. It was packed in the evening when we drove past again on the way home. The food was delicious, the portions were large, as was the selection of salads from the buffet. Only the ratio of meat to side dish could be a little more balanced. (very meat-heavy) The price-performance ratio is great. Right next to the inn there is a nice playground for the children and not far away is the wachtküppel, which invites you to climb and offers a great view of the Rhön and neighboring communities. All in all, we were very satisfied and will definitely return to Erlengrund again.

Great dishes, great service, always happy, and today super sundae, Wachtküppel and Wasserkuppe and of course a pilgrim still needs some pilgrimage material, Another highlight are the trout, steaks and skewers from the charcoal grill on Fridays. Great taste. On September 16/17 50th anniversary is celebrated. There are also some Rhön specialties from the kitchen. The schnitzel is available right on the doorstep and is guaranteed to be organic.
